About the Opportunities:

We currently have some incredible opportunities available for General Helpers to join the Brucejack Mine remote work-site in Northwestern British Columbia. You will work at the Brucejack Mine on a rotating schedule encompassing 13 days on/13 days off rotation

This position is located at Pretium Exploration Inc.'s "Pretivm" Brucejack site within the Catering Department. The position’s primary report is to the Chef and to the First Cooks.

Responsibilities:

Perform following duties, with safety being the number one priority

  • Maintain high levels of food safety and sanitation, working in accordance with provincial Foodsafe guidelines and Pretivm food safety policies and SOPs.
  • Conduct all work in a manner that is safe, and in accordance with Pretivm safety policies and SOPs.
  • Ensure that all WHMIS guidelines are followed, be familiar with MSDS materials for all products used, and use appropriate PPE for all tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining room and lunch room areas and equipment, including tables, chairs, floors, cold table / salad bar, coolers, shelving, coffee makers, milk machines, juice dispensers, coolers, toasters, microwaves, sinks, cabinets.
  • Keep all areas of dining room and lunch room stocked throughout shift and during service times, including salad bar, sandwiches, snacks, fruits and other snack items, dishes & cutlery, coffee and beverages, paper/disposable supplies. Report any shortcomings to supervisor.
  • Provide excellent guest service, helping guests with questions or requests as needed.
  • Maintain friendly, courteous, and respectful relationships with guests and co-workers.
  • Complete all daily and weekly cleaning lists. Communicate any shortcomings to supervisor.
  • Complete cooler temperature logs, immediately report any problems to supervisor.
  • Assist in other areas as needed, including prep, dishwashing, cleaning.
  • Take out garbage, recycling, and break down boxes as necessary.
  • Contribute to the efficiency, safety, high morale, and smooth operation of the catering and accommodations team. We are all expected to pitch in wherever needed
  • Make sure that all equipment and tools are well-maintained and in good working order
  • Report any damage or needed repairs.
  • Monitor inventory in areas of responsibility and report shortages to a supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade twelve or GED.
  • WHMIS
  • Foodsafe 1
  • Kitchen experience, camp experience, and culinary education or a suitable combination thereof

 Additional Information:

  • Work at remote location (camp) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Be able maintain high levels of performance over 10 or 12 hour shifts
  • Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions
  • Able to work in close quarters with the team
