Headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Pretium is creating value through gold by ramping up production of the 100%-owned underground Brucejack gold mine. Commercial production was announced July 2017. Located 65 kilometers north of the town of Stewart in northern British Columbia. The high-grade gold opportunity at Brucejack is one of the largest and highest-grading gold mines. A feasibility study completed in June 2014 and updated in December 2016 has outlined Proven and Probable mineral reserves in Brucejack’s Valley of the Kings comprising 8.1 million ounces of gold (15.6 million tonnes grading 16.1 grams per tonne gold). Pretium is advancing Brucejack to production as a 2,700 tonnes per day underground mine. Pretium trades on the TSX and NYSE under the ticker symbol "PVG".

About the Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.

This position is located at Pretium Resources Inc.'s “Pretivm” Vancouver, British Columbia corporate office and reports to the Director, Human Resources. We are seeking a personable, experienced Human Resources Business Partner (“HRBP”) to join our organization. In this position, the incumbent will primarily act as an advisor on all issues related to human resources and oversee a small HR team based in Vancouver. The incumbent should be a proactive communicator and change agent, someone who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions.

Job Purpose & Accountability:

The HRBP is fully dedicated to internal clients, their needs and their duties. The HRBP helps to develop and implement better people management practices and shares the responsibility for the goals and target delivery.

The HRBP is an experienced HR professional, who has a broad experience in various HR areas of expertise. The HRBP builds a valuable relationship with internal clients and transfers requests and solutions to/from the business unit. The value added of the business partner is in deep knowledge of the internal clients, key employees and business processes

Responsibilities:

The HRBP’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and nurture partnerships through human resources to bridge the divide between management and employees
  • Consult regularly with management and provide guidance when appropriate
  • Identify training needs and create or procure a professional &/or technical development curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure that training objectives are met
  • Provide input on workforce and succession planning as well as plans business unit restructuring
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the human resources department, both in Vancouver and at Site, to develop policies, programs, and solutions
  • Develop HR team members as they can become HR Business Partners
  • Analyze data trends and metrics to inform business decisions
  • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborate with the legal department when necessary
  • Interpret human resources policy to company management and employees
  • Manages complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in the people management
  • Recruits personally for key critical talent
  • Assess and anticipate human resources-related needs
  • Mentor and coach other members of the HR teams
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, or related field with a minimum of ten to fifteen years’ experience in human resources in a generalist environment and CPHR designation
  • Current, in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including workers’ compensation, and provincial employment laws
  • Previous experience in training and development, compensation, organizational design, or employee relations a plus • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
