We are Pretivm – a Canadian mining company, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, owns and operates the high-grade underground Brucejack gold mine located 65 kilometres north of the town of Stewart in northern British Columbia. Commercial production was announced July 2017 and in 2020 the mine produced over 347 thousand ounces of gold at an All In Sustaining Cost of US$981 per ounce of gold sold. In 2020 Pretium generated over US$369 million of free cash flow. About the opportunity:

We currently have an temporary opportunity for a Payroll Clerk to join our team. This position will be covering our current payroll clerk proceeding with Maternity leave and is located at Pretivm’s Vancouver, BC, Corporate Head Office. 

Job Purpose and Accountability 

The Payroll Clerk will perform various clerical and accounting tasks such as data management, assisting with accurate and timely processing of payroll.

Responsibilities:

The Payroll Clerk responsibilities include:

  • Processing semi-monthly payroll and special payments for salaried, hourly and daily employees.
  • Ensure accurate processing of retro payments, bereavement, sick pay, training, LOA and vacation pay.
  • Process Record of Employment electronically.
  • Reconcile semi-monthly payroll for accuracy and completeness.
  • Create required internal management reports from the payroll system.
  • Assist with responding to employee and government agency for payroll related inquires.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of payroll deductions, benefits and accruals

 General

  • Builds strong working relationships with Management, Finance, Human Resources and Site Administrators.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders when responding to payroll inquiries sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Clear written and verbal communications. Work well in a team environment with strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks to meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of payroll administration experience (PCP an asset)
  • JDE payroll system experience an asset.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Intermediate to Advanced Excel required)
